Bespoke Computing Ltd has made a real difference to the profitability of the Telford and Wolverhampton based franchise of ChipsAway, the vehicle repair company. Operating on two sites had meant that business owners, Kim and Paul Fabian, had been devoting an increasing amount of time to duplicate billing information at each location.
They saw that this was beginning to impact seriously on both the running of the business and their bottom line. The process was absorbing the best part of a day a week. The options were either, to engage a freelance bookkeeper, or find an technology based solution. They called in Chris Pallett, MD of Bespoke Computing Ltd, to advise on the best course of action.
The simplicity of the solution Chris suggested surprised Kim and Paul, nearly as much as its attractively low cost. For little more than a £500 investment in hardware, broadband access and modest changes to PC set up, ChipsAway saved costs of between £5000 and £10000 per year in the value of their time or of employing a part time bookkeeper.
Chris Pallett said that “ Companies often believe that it is going to cost them a fortune and cause major disruption to resolve these sorts of issue. Often the answer is quite simple and, providing their IT kit is not too dated, they most likely have most of the hardware required already. It just needs to be configured properly.”
