Bespoke Computing Ltd, Cut & Paste - Spam comes bouncing back

Spam comes bouncing back

by Chris Pallett @ 25. April 2009 13:44

Despite a major victory against spam last November when Global Crossing disconnected US based client McColo from the Internet and reducing spam levels of 75%, by the end of March spam levels were back to normal according to recent reports from Microsoft, Google and other security experts.  Microsoft are even claiming that 97% of all emails sent over the Internet are junk.

Echoed closer to home by our own clients are these big numbers, one client of 25 staff receive 5,000 messages every day with a spam rate of 96%.  With US organisation Ferris Research putting the cost of deleting one spam message at $0.04 (around 2.5p), saving £120 every day on an annual investment of £340 isn’t a bad return for our client.  That is £43,800 saved over the course of the year!

If your business has a problem with spam, chances are it might be a good idea to give us a call?
