The truth of the matter is spammers wouldn’t be sending out masses of e-mails if nobody – including you – ever clicked through to buy anything. We’re talking about e-mails that trick you into handing over bank details (or boldly promise a 12 inch man-hood).

Hoax email leaving you red faced or worse?

Unfortunately for the not-so-sure, email hoaxes are as common place on the Internet as regular spam. An email hoax is when that unbelievable deal or free offer hits your inbox, usually asking for either your email address or for you to tell all of your friends before getting the amazing free gift. Scammers regularly use email in attempts to steal your money or personal information.

Email is a part of everyday life, for some people it even takes over their lives. We have email at work, at home and even on our mobile phones. The little things make all the difference, and to leave them out or get it wrong could suggest you’re lazy, unprofessional or even incompetent – isn’t it worth taking a minute to think about the emails that you send and what they really say about you?

Spam comes bouncing back

Despite a major victory against spam last November when Global Crossing disconnected US based client McColo from the Internet and reducing spam levels of 75%, by the end of March spam levels were back to normal according to recent reports from Microsoft, Google and other security experts.  Microsoft are even claiming that 97% of all emails sent over the Internet are junk.
