Spam comes bouncing back

Despite a major victory against spam last November when Global Crossing disconnected US based client McColo from the Internet and reducing spam levels of 75%, by the end of March spam levels were back to normal according to recent reports from Microsoft, Google and other security experts.  Microsoft are even claiming that 97% of all emails sent over the Internet are junk.

Put a Google rocket up your web site

If I had a pound for everyone who asked how to get to the top of Google, I'd have about £637.  Optimising sites is a combination of stuff you can change behind the scenes (code), stuff you do with the words you write (content), and stuff that you do on other peoples sites (off the page) - this is the tough one.

There is a way in through the back door of Google that could put your site right at the top in hours or days, not weeks and months.  It will take you just 10 minutes:

2008 Tech Round up

As we leave 2008 behind us and crash head first in to 2009 it’s worth taking a moment to look back at some of the tech developments last year, as well as some of those to look forward too.  There are simply too many developments from the past year to discuss in detail, some of them are overly complex to explain, and some of them are just not really that interesting from a users perspective (although given time they no doubt will be).  So I’ve taken a selection of what I think are interesting developments that have or will have some impact to you – the reader.
